Day 1: Transfer to Moroto

After breakfast, begin your adventure by heading to the remote Karamoja region in northeastern Uganda. You will spend the night at a comfortable camp near the village of Moroto, located at the foot of Mount Moroto. This area is home to several tribes, including the Ikk, Tepeth, and Karamojong. Experience the rich Karamojong culture, known for its similarities to the Maasai tribes of Kenya and Tanzania.

Day 2: Karamojong Cultural Experience

Today, accompanied by a local guide, you will visit a traditional Bokoro Manyatta. Witness daily life as the community engages in their morning routines such as milking, grinding sorghum, and brewing local beer. Enjoy authentic interactions, play traditional games, and immerse yourself in the natural rhythm of Karamojong life.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Travel to Kidepo Valley National Park, Uganda’s most remote national park, located at the border with South Sudan and Kenya. Known for its dramatic landscapes of savannah, rocky outcrops, and granite mountains, the park offers some of the most striking panoramas in Uganda with minimal tourist traffic.

Day 4: Cross into South Sudan and Arrive in Kapoeta

After breakfast, proceed to Kapoeta in South Sudan. You will stop at the border within Kidepo Valley National Park to change vehicles and meet your new guide. Upon arrival in Kapoeta, check into your accommodation and take time to relax.

Day 5: Visit the Toposa Tribe

Today is dedicated to exploring the culture of the Toposa people. Learn about their customs, traditions, and lifestyle through authentic interactions in their community.

After breakfast, continue to the village of Larim. The Larim people speak Murle and are known for their intricate body scarification, considered among the most sophisticated in Africa. These marks are a traditional symbol of beauty and social status.

Day 7: Larim Cultural Experience

Spend the day engaging with the Larim community. Learn about their way of life, traditional architecture, and unique aesthetic customs.

Day 8: Travel to Juba

Transfer to Juba, the capital city of South Sudan. Spend the night at a comfortable hotel and unwind after the journey.

Day 9: Visit the Mundari Tribe

Today, visit the Mundari people, a small Nilotic ethnic group renowned for their tall stature and coexistence with the majestic Ankole-Watusi cattle. Participate in cultural activities such as preparing cattle enclosures and enjoy the iconic sight of the cattle returning from pasture in the evening. This is also an excellent opportunity for photography.

Day 10: Morning with Mundari and Departure

Spend your final morning with the Mundari community before transferring to Juba for your return flight. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have the option to explore the city at an additional cost.
