The drive to Akagera National Park takes around 2.5 hours, based on the number of stops along the route. With the gorgeous scenery along the way to the park, feel free to consult your guide on picture stops. After a brief game drive in the park, we will continue to our hotel and check-in. We eat lunch and then go on a boat ride on Lake Ihema to see hippos and crocodiles in the lake and along the coastline.
Day 2: game drive and departure
We get up early and depart immediately after breakfast for a wildlife drive in Akagera National Park. We will be looking for large creatures such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, several antelope species, and freshly restored lions and rhinos. The park provides a diverse home for animals and a birder’s paradise, with over 500 bird species.
You will depart the resort with your lunch for a 6-hour game drive, relying on your preferences, before beginning your journey back to Kigali. You will walk along the lake, which is frequently home to a variety of wildlife. Marking the end of your 2 Days at Akagera National Park Wildlife Safari
