Day by Day Tour Summary
Day 1: Kampala to Murchison Falls
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and make an early start on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover in Masindi town for lunch. Proceed to Murchison Falls and visit the top of the falls, one of the star attractions in the area, before proceeding to your lodge, where you will unwind for the rest of the evening. Dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Game drive and launch cruise
Wake up for early morning breakfast on your 3rd morning of the 8-day Uganda safari and go for a game drive where you may spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, and Uganda kobs, among others. In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise on the parkās main tourist attraction, the unique Murchison Falls, as well as the River Nile with its streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodiles along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Murchison-Kibale National Park
Have breakfast and then drive to Kibale Forest National Park, home to the chimpanzees. This is a full-day drive with a lunch stopover en route and arriving at the lodge in the evening. Dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking
After breakfast, you will go for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Kibaleās 795 km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is the place for several forest wildlife species, most especially 13 species of primates coupled with chimpanzees. After trekking, you will have lunch and then visit the Bigodi wetland. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Bwindi for gorillas
Enjoy morning breakfast in Kibale and transfer to Bwindi National Park, driving through the famous Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you may spot some game, including tree-climbing lions. Proceed to Bwindi with lunch en route, arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking
You will have an early morning breakfast and report to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park ranger guides, after which you head into the forest for gorilla trekking in Bwindi. This could take 4ā8 hours, depending on the movements of the mountain gorillas. Upon discovering the gentle mountain gorillas, you will be allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of these primates, which often seem not to mind the visitor’s attention as they go about their daily lives. Return to the starting point, where you will meet your driver, and transfer back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Departure to Kampala
Have breakfast and head for Kampala, driving across some incredible landscapes, local markets, and towns. Enjoy lunch en route in Mbarara town and proceed to Kampala, arriving in the late afternoon. Drop off at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe airport for your flight back home.
