This 8 days uganda chimpanzee and wildlife safari starts and stops in Kampala, and it takes you through the western portion of the nation, which is rich in wildlife and scenic beauty. The major attractions in this safari seem to be Lake Mburo National Park, which covers an area of 371 square kilometers and is home to a large number of Zebras as well as other animals such as antelopes, warthogs, buffaloes, oribis, and others seen along the lake shores such as hippos, crocodiles, and birds (park has over 332 bird species). Mountain gorillas live in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which is home to around 340 individuals. Day By Day Tour Summary
Day 1: Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park-Wildlife viewing
A professional tour guide from monumental expeditions will meet you in Kampala at 7:00 a.m. and drive you west of the nation to Lake Mburo National Park, stopping at the Mpambire drum manufacturers facility and also near the Equator to snap pictures. When you arrive at the park, eat lunch at the lodge before embarking on a game drive in the park, where you will see various animals such as zebras, which are found virtually everywhere in the area. Later in the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and a night’s rest.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park for a gorilla safari
On this day, after breakfast, depart for the Southwestern section of Bwindi Forest, passing via Mbarara town, which is blessed with lovely vistas, as well as diverse rocky hills with fields; it is a fantastic drive with all of these beauties. When you get to the park, check into the lodge of your choice and spend the evening relaxing as you prepare for the next adventure. Dine and sleep there.
Day 3: Mountain Gorilla trekking & Community walk- Bwindi Impenetrable
Breakfast will be served at 6:30 a.m., followed by a transfer to the park headquarters with a lunch box, where you will be briefed by Park rangers. The park rangers will accompany you as you enter the mist forest to hike mountain gorillas at 8:00 a.m. Trekking can take between 2 and 8 hours, but once you see and mingle with the gorillas, you only have one hour. Following a successful trek, return to the lodge to relax before taking a tour around several villages, such as the Batwa community, where you will engage with them and learn a lot from them before retiring to the resort.
Day 4: Travel to Queen Elizabeth via the Ishasha sector
After breakfast, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector, which is home to tree-climbing lions. Elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions, and other animal species may be seen in the park. When you arrive, enjoy lunch at the lodge and then embark on a late afternoon wildlife drive to see the above animals and many more, as well as birds. Have supper and a sleepover.
Day 5: Game drive & a boat Cruise—Kazinga Channel
You will have to get up very early today since you will have breakfast at 6:00 a.m. and then instantly start your game drive. You must get up early because you will be able to see the morning risers such as lions, solitary buffaloes, kobs, elephants, and so on. It’s a fantastic and exciting time because you can get up and personal with these animals. Later, return to the resort for lunch before embarking on an afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga channel, which is home to a variety of species including birds such as malachite kingfishers and pink-backed pelicans, as well as mammals like crocodiles, elephants, and hippos, among others. Cruising on the Kazinga is one of the most visually appealing activities in the park. head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Morning game drive, visit the baboon cliff & Departure to Kibale
Enjoy a delicious breakfast before going on a morning wildlife drive and visiting the baboon cliffs, where you will be treated to magnificent and breathtaking scenery. After lunch, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, which is home to Chimpanzees; the drive is around 2 to 3 hours. Arrive in the evening for supper and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland walk
Have breakfast early enough, then depart the resort for the visitor center with enough of bottled drinking water, where you will be instructed on chimp trekking. After the briefing, go out on a journey through the forest with an armed park ranger at 8:00 a.m. Nothing beats spending time with chimps in their natural environment. You will also witness other primates such as golden monkeys, grey-checked Mangabeys, LHoests monkeys, bush infants, and a variety of birds.
After trekking, return to the resort for lunch and an afternoon stroll in the Bigodi wetland. You will meet many individuals who live there, as well as observe various birds such as the Great Blue Turaco, and additional primates such as bush pigs, otters, and baboons, among others.
Day 8: Return to Kampala
After a hearty breakfast, depart the park and drive to Kampala through Mubende, where you will be among the first to experience the area’s wonderful picturesque vistas. You will have lunch in Mubende before continuing to Kampala. Your driving guide will either drop you off at your Kampala hotel or transport you to Entebbe Airport in case you have a trip back home.
