Uganda gorilla habituation experience 2024-2025.
Monumental Expeditions and Safaris has recently expanded the range of activities available in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to include the Uganda Gorilla Habituation Experience. Safaris to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you may get up close and personal with gorillas, can be arranged either by road or by air. Our Uganda gorilla habitat immersion tours go anywhere from three to seven days in Bwindi National Park.
Just as we do with gorilla trekking permits, we also arrange gorilla habituation permits as part of our services. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible to inquire about scheduling a Gorilla Habituation Experience Safari in Rushaga, located in the southern section of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, should you decide to participate.
In order for the Uganda Wildlife Authority to provide habituation permits for gorillas, we will need you to submit all of the necessary information from your passport as soon as there is availability. Depending on your interests, budget, and duration of your gorilla habitat adventure in Uganda, we can also arrange for you to stay in Rushaga.
For a briefing regarding the whole procedure, tourists heading for Mountain Gorilla habituation are asked to report at the visitor’s center at the National Park no later than 7:30 in the morning. While here, students will also learn the most important safety protocols to follow in the bush during their gorilla adventure so that they may have a positive time habituated to mountain gorillas.
Please be informed that the current price for a habituation permit to spend four hours with a group of Mountain Gorillas is $1,500 USD. No more than four individuals, all of whom must be fifteen years old or older, may reside in a single household.
Take advantage of our extensive expertise in planning gorilla trekking and habituation safaris in Uganda by reading our commonly asked questions about gorilla habituation experience.
The following are some of the restrictions and guidelines for mountain gorilla habituation that are comparable to those for mountain gorilla trekking:
Never deviate from the directions given in the ranger manual.
Maintaining group cohesion to prevent disorientation
Being quiet while near the mountain gorillas and other wildlife in the forest.
Separating oneself from the mountain gorillas by at least seven meters
Avoid acting like a mountain gorilla
When photographing mountain gorillas, do not use a flash.
You should not attempt the habituation experience when unwell since mountain gorillas are very susceptible to illness transmission.
Being in excellent physical condition is highly recommended for the Gorilla Habituation Experience. This is because the rangers and visitors spend a whole day trailing a troop of Mountain Gorillas through the mountain forests, trying to keep up with their speed. However, if needed, you may employ porters to help with the tourist’s bags or even a stretcher.
Only participants in the Mountain Gorilla Habituation Experience must be at least 15 years old. Guests planning to participate in this activity may consider making reservations at hotels in or near the Rushaga area in order to avoid traffic congestion at the National Park visitor center.
