Rwanda Habituated Gorilla Families.

Rwanda has numerous sites with threatened species, but among them only one site with global population of Mountain Gorilla. Rwanda habituated gorilla families.

Volcanoes National Park in Northwestern Rwanda’s northwest borders Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in the south-west of Uganda and Virunga national park in Congo.

Covering a 160 square kilometer area, Volcanoes National Park is the oldest and biggest park Bamboo forest, which is home for Rwanda’s Gorilla families and other types of animals, covers half of the territory.

Five to eight groupings of volcanoes in Volcanoes National Park—Gahinga, Sabyinyo, Virunga mountain, karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura—are in mountain gorilla habitat. Golden monkeys and the threatened Mountain Gorillas call the park home.

Originally a modest area to save more than 400 Mountain Gorillas in bamboo forest and montane woodland, Volcanoes National Park was proclaimed in 1925. On a low land area of 160sqaure kilometer, the park is the best location for gorilla trekking safari and tour in Rwanda; it is home to world-class Rwanda habituated Gorilla families.

One of the most well-known activities that visitors most engage in is gorilla trekking; mountain gorillas are the most threatened primate species worldwide and the finest activity available all year long.

Eight tourist per group per day, gorilla trekking allows visitors to see other species such golden monkeys, animals including bush bush, and 178 types of birds while combing the woods for this magnificent ape.

While tourists are hiking for mountain gorillas, Volcanoes National Park is a forest reserve providing their natural environment. In bamboo forest, they may see rare golden monkeys and other animals, thereby providing fascinating views in all directions.

The social lives of mountain Gorillas
