Gorilla Trekking Luxury There are instants when you really feel exhausted about normal/regular gorilla trekking…
Gorilla trekking for seniors.
Gorilla trekking for seniors.
At Monumental Expeditions and Safaris, we are experts at planning gorilla trekking safaris for all ages, from young adults (15–60 years old) to retirees (60 and up). Many elderly tourists and travelers to East Africa often forego gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda in favor of wildlife safaris in other destinations, but they still want to do the trek.
Gorilla trekking is a very personalized experience; we can pair you with a group that is similar to your age and fitness level, so you won’t have to worry about being overwhelmed by a large number of young people on a strenuous trip. Rest assured, we have the knowledge and experience to make sure you have a memorable and rewarding gorilla trekking adventure.
On gorilla trekking safaris designed specifically for seniors, we aim to locate mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. On these trips, we limit the number of passengers to four seniors to ensure they have enough room to move around.
Occasionally, if their budget permits, we suggest taking a fly from Entebbe to Gorillas instead of driving, since the trip is around 8-9 hours long and rather exhausting. The flight only takes 2 hours, and you may rest at the lodge the night before your once-in-a-lifetime encounter the following day.
Travelers over the age of 60 may still benefit from a more leisurely pace while hiking; for those who aren’t physically healthy enough, we suggest renting a sedan chair, which is more expensive but guarantees you’ll view gorillas up close in Bwindi Forest.
