Tour services in Arua may take you to the national park of Murchison Falls. Passengers visiting this National Park have the option of two boat cruises. A boat ride downstream and upstream of the Murchison Falls is available in the National Park. Among the thrilling experiences you’re sure to face on your incredible journey is this one.
The Nile boat ride takes place in two shifts, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and travels downstream to the Victoria Nile delta, which stretches all the way to Lake Albert’s shoreline. The whole trip takes around four or five hours.
On a Nile boat tour, you may see a variety of wildlife, including hippos, buffalo, crocodiles, and a plethora of bird species, including the Shoebill stork, the African fish eagle, the Goliath heron, and kingfishers, among many more. The sunset may be seen well from the delta boat ride since it departs many times throughout the evening. As the sun sets and the sky becomes darker, there is no better time than on an evening boat tour to take in the breathtaking scenery, which is both romantic and exciting.
On the way to the base of the falls, there are two stops along the way for the boat ride. each the morning and afternoon boats depart at 8:30 am and 2:30 pm, respectively, and each run for around three hours. Various bird and animal species, including crocodiles, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, and others, may be seen eating and drinking water along the Nile beaches as you take a boat ride downstream. As a safari visitor to Murchison Falls National Park, you may enjoy this incredible opportunity.
Every Day Cruises to Waterfalls
Since the 1950s, the most popular attraction in the park has been the river cruise that departs from the dock at Paraa on the South bank. The goal is to see Murchison Falls, which is located at the top of the Fajao Gorge. There is a regularly planned journey that leaves at 2:30 in the afternoon and at 8:00 and 11:00 in the morning, depending on demand.
You may arrange for boat pickups and drops offs from Paraa on the north bank and from lodges along the south bank of the Nile River in advance. If you would like, we can also organize individual outings, as well as a unique Waterfall Sundowner Trip that leaves at 3:30pm every day and includes food and beverages.
Exploring Private Waterfalls
Couples and small families may also arrange for a private waterfall cruise in advance. You may see crocodiles and hippos in their natural habitat, among other animals and birds. Along the route, you can see a big colony of red-throated bee eaters that nest on cliffs and a variety of water birds.
Journeys with Delta
Twenty kilometers downstream from Paraa lies the Victoria Nile delta, a haven for endangered wetland birds like the shoebill and papyrus endemics. The dock at Paraa on the South Bank is the starting point for scheduled delta region tours that include a “breakfast on board” option at 7:00 in the morning. With a private boat and flexible scheduling, we can also create a vacation just for you.
Professional Journeys
To ensure that your journey is tailored to your interests, we may arrange you a private boat to cruise the river at your leisure. Maybe some fishing and birdwatching, or just relaxing on the boat and soaking in the scenery as you look for wildlife. With the help of your guide, you may find unique spots to dock, take a stroll, and watch the sunset. If you only let us know what you want, we will do our best to make it happen.
Adventure and Nature
River cruises combined with pre-arranged car pickup provide for an unforgettable park experience. Return to Paraa after a boat ride to the delta by taking a game drive in the Buligi region, which is home to a plethora of wildlife. Alternately, you may disembark from your boat at Fajao Gorge and, accompanied by our expert safari guide, hike to the peak of Murchison Falls to get a bird’s-eye view of the rumbling abyss below. Then, you can return to Paraa by car.
Transferring and storing games
For our Murchison River safaris, we use specially modified 4×4 vehicles equipped with roof hatches that allow us to see wildlife as we travel through the delta region and the whole national park. Everyone in the vehicle has the right to a window seat so they can see the game better. Monumental Expeditions and Safarisis an Arua-based tour company that offers launch cruises and wildlife watching excursions at Murchison Falls National Park.
