While there aren’t as many lodges and tented camps in Amboseli National Park as, say, the Masai Mara National Reserve, there are still plenty of excellent options. Just three of the camps and lodges are located inside the borders of the national park.

The remaining Amboseli lodges and camps are located on the Maasai-run conservancies or group ranches that encircle the reserve to the north and east, or outside the park’s eastern Kimana Gate. All of the lodges and tented campgrounds are first-rate, and each site offers advantages. Here is our selection of opulent lodging in Amboseli.

There is no set order of quality for the hotels listed below.

1. Lodge Ol Tukai

You can’t get any closer to the heart of Amboseli National Park than Ol Tukai. With its spacious gardens, elegant suites, and stunning views of the Kilimanjaro, Ol Tukai is likely the greatest of the two Amboseli lodges within the park. You’ll frequently be eating on the open terrace or swimming in the pool when an elephant passes by or, with any chance, a cheetah darts across the horizon while hunting. You can start your game drive every morning while people outside the park are still waiting to enter if you choose to stay inside.

2. Sopa Lodge in Amboseli

One of the oldest Amboseli lodges, Amboseli Sopa Lodge, is located a little east of the national park. The apartments are well-spread, and you can view Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance on the western horizon from the swimming pool and other locations. The restaurant and bar are great locations to hide from the sun, and the rooms and public areas are decorated in vibrant safari hues.

3. Safari Camp Kibo

One of the nicer Amboseli camps in the vicinity is Kibo, which is only 2km/1.2mi east of the national park. With their rustic wooden furnishings, animal-skin carpets, and tiled floors, these safari tents are among the biggest you’ll find anywhere. You’ll find yourself pausing frequently as you go around the lovely grounds to admire the breathtaking vistas of Africa’s tallest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. Additionally, it’s simple to unwind at the restaurant, pub, or swimming pool.

4. Serena Safari Lodge in Amboseli

Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge is perfectly situated in the middle of the park and is, in every way, a member of the traditional, traditional class of Amboseli lodges. A great base includes spacious rooms with striking safari décor, a massage center, an excellent buffet restaurant, a large pool, and evening entertainment by local cultural groups. Although the lodge does not offer views of the Kilimanjaro, as soon as you exit the lodge parking lot, you will notice animals all over the place.

5. Camp Amboseli’s Elewana Tortilis

Elewana Tortilis Camp Amboseli is the only Amboseli camp located within the national park and is a great option, nestled in its own little area. The safari tents are spacious and incredibly comfortable, and there are breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro from various locations across the camp.

Even if all that separates you from screaming lions and passing elephants is canvas, you are completely safe and can lie in bed and be enthralled by the sounds of Africa at night. With peaceful pathways surrounding the camp, you may enjoy a more tranquil start and finish to your safari day because you’re far from the two lodges located inside the park.
