What to consider when getting ready for a Uganda Family Safaris
Children ‘s Age Bracket
Recommendable age for one to be referred to as a child is when below 15yrs, this means family safari tourists do pay for entrance fee and then entrée the National park, but then children that are below 5 yrs are not charged entrance fee. When preparing for a Uganda Family safaris age is so imperative a factor reason being that there are activities like Gorilla trekking that takes place in Bwindi Impenetrable /Mgahinga Gorilla National parks& allows children of above 15 yrs. of age, Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park which only permits children of above 12 yrs only. So this only answers back that if parents want to involve themselves in any of the above mentioned activities then they will let their children engage in other activities in these parks like spotting of Wildlife such as Trees, Baboons, Birds, Monkeys, etc.

Some places where to stay like the lodges/hotels don’t provide side beds for children therefore when booking a lodge make sure its roomy/spacious enough to accommodate a side bed for your young ones in case you moved with them.

Take caution of the following
The Highlight of most of the Uganda Safaris is Gorilla Trekking and remember it takes place in Bwindi Impenetrable forest, this activity doesn’t involve children below the age of 15 yrs.The same goes for Chimpanzee trekking. But then Kibale National Park has gotten a different kind of care it offers children because of the guides who are there to take them around the forest plus making them learn a few tactics of how to survive while in the forest.
The major and reasonable means of transport used in Uganda is Road transport, and then let it cross your mind as well that the road system in Uganda is not the finest since most of the roads are rough, with potholes, etc. And with this making transferring /travelling very unpleasant, you take longer than if the roads were in better shape. Still you should make sure you get an updated map of Uganda if your plans are to engage in a self-drive to Uganda’s National Parks with your family.
In case you are planning to embark on a Gorilla trekking activity and well included in your travel plan for a Uganda Family safari, then its best you first relish the forest creatures of Bwindi Impenetrable forest first. Bwindi Impenetrable National forest is a dense and remotest National forest ,so it would be best if you plan your expedition very well so that you don’t miss out on anything especially your involvement in the Gorilla trekking activity.
