Day 1: Transfer to Nyiragongo mountain

Upon meeting up with a professional and well-experienced tour guide from monumental expeditions, you will have a briefing about your safari and then start your journey to Nyiragongo Mountain, having your lunch in an en-route style. On arrival, you will enjoy your dinner and overnight stay at your lodge as you get ready for hiking the following day.

Day 2: Hiking Mount Nyiragongo

After enjoying your early morning breakfast, you will start hiking right away, enjoying the spectacular view that nature has to offer along the way, filled with plenty of birds and primates. You will have your lunch and dinner at the several stopover points on the mountain and enjoy the camp-like style of sleeping.

Day 3: descending and transfer to Virunga National Park

After your morning breakfast, you will embark on descending the mount, and on arrival at your pre-starting point, you will rest for a while and then embark on your transfer to Virunga National Park, having your lunch en route.

Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge as you get ready for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and departure

Leaving the lodge very early in the morning with your packed breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters, where the gorilla trekking activity starts. You will proceed into the montane rainforest with several rangers who will guide you throughout the gorilla adventure, as you will spend a full hour with the mountain gorillas, taking pictures and videos of your life.

After the trekking, you will embark on your ride back home, marking the end of your 4-day Nyiragongo and Virunga gorilla safari with an en-route lunch.
