Brief information about the tour
2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari is among the shortest Rwanda Safari Packages available to visitors visiting Volcanoes National Park. This two-day Rwanda Gorilla trekking safari takes place in Volcanoes National Park, which is located in northern Rwanda. This two-day Rwanda Gorilla trekking safari in Volcanoes National Park provides an absolute blast, as visitors spend an hour with mountain gorillas.
The whole 2 day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari in Virunga National Park includes 2 days and 1 night beginning in either Kigali city or Kigali international airport, followed by a brief Kigali city tour where you will be able to visit Genocide memorial sites, connecting to volcanoes national park for a gorilla trekking safari in the deep woods and ending mostly in Kigali city or Kigali international airport.
Day By Day Tour Summary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, city tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Browsing Kigali genocide memorial sites: On the first day of your safari, you will be picked up from your previously conveyed location, either Kigali city or Kigali International airport, and taken to the Kigali genocide memorial site, where many Rwandese were murdered in cold blood, as well as craft shops, markets, and other attractions.
Move to Volcanoes National Park: After the city tour, drive to Volcanoes National Park, which is around 2–3 hours away. Arriving late at night, check into the lodge for supper and an overnight stay. Plan your meals: Route lunch and dinner are served at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and departure
Gorilla trekking: On the second day of your two-day Rwanda Gorilla trekking safari, you will roll out of bed, eat breakfast, and meet with your guide to transfer to the park headquarters, where you will be briefed on the expectations during gorilla trekking, the dos and don’ts, and even have the option to hire a porter. After the briefing, you will be assigned to a specific gorilla family and will trail into the jungle with armed rangers and guides in search of habituated mountain gorillas.
Gorilla trekking in Rwanda can range from 30 minutes to a whole day, so be prepared to climb while you hunt for gorillas in their natural habitat. When a habituated gorilla family is located, guests have just one hour to engage with them and snap those stunning remembrance images of the endangered mountain gorillas. After an hour with the mountain gorillas, return to the resort, freshen up, and check out to meet the driver or be dropped off at the area where you were scooped up the day before.
