Brief information about the tour
On this 8-day Uganda and Rwanda Safari, you will visit two of East Africa’s fastest-developing safari locations and enjoy two of its key attractions. This journey includes the African savanna wildlife drama as well as the lovely rainforest vegetation. There is no other nation in Africa where you can simply combine the two attractions like Rwanda and Uganda.
This tailoredĀ Africa safari begins at Entebbe International Airport and continues through Uganda’s most prominent savanna park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you’ll take a game drive and a boat safari on Kazinga channel to spot big game such as elephant, lion, buffalo, hippo, large herds of antelope, and rare bird species. After that, you’ll be challenged to pursue mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and/or Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park.
The major attraction of this safariĀ is seeing mountain gorillas, and the programme permits you to undertake that activity twice for the best experience. The gorilla tracking experience is so engrossing that your enthusiasm may overshadow the subjective experience the first time, and it’s only the second time you take on the task that you’ll record eternal memories.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you’ll continue your journey south to Bwindi Impenetrable ForestĀ which the world has yet to completely discover. The rolling hills, emerald green carpet, backdrop of breathtaking mountain sides, and numerous faces of inhabitants strewn along the way. Relax back and let the gentle breeze caress your face as you take in the scenery.
Check-in time for lunch and a nature walk around the villages to witness the African people and customs untainted by modernization firsthand. Your gorilla tracking adventure will begin the next day.
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After a brief breakfast, join your monumental expedition safari driver for a short drive to the trailhead. You’ll have your packed lunches, of course, since we don’t anticipate a quickie on this one, do we?
The park rangers will inform you before leading you into the murky forests to hunt your foe. These gentle giants awaken your inherent love of the outdoors and change your perspective on the wild species that inhabit the world’s rainforests. It’s a memory you’ll cherish forever, so be sure you’re prepared to be rewarded for your bravery in traveling to Africa. You will not stay with them for more than an hour since the wise men believe you will upset their inner beings and perhaps transfer certain diseases (you know).
You’ll be brought back to the lodge after your encounter, but before, choose a nice picnic location in the forest and have your packed lunch.
If you still have the courage, you can take the Batwa trek. The Batwa are the indigenous people who lived in the forest before it was designated a national park and closed to them. They now populate the forest’s edges and share their customs with tourists. To help the Batwa villages, we take tourists through some of their planned exhibits.
Retire to the lodge for the evening. The next day, we’ll pass through Rwanda.
Day 5: Cross the Border into Rwanda, Volcanoes National Park
The 8-day Uganda and Rwanda Safari takes a detour via Rwandan territory via the Cyanika border. COVID and border limitations may apply; be prepared to follow the recommendations to avoid being delayed.
You’ll travel into Volcanoes National Park (not far from the border) and see the famed Dian Fossey’s resting place. That small lady, with a huge heart, had the courage to preserve the mountain gorillas from savages and to tell the world about the treasure we had buried deep in our African forest; thus, a visit to her grave is in order. Take a knee!
After that touching moment, check into the lodge, have supper, and unwind for the evening. This African safari journey will resume tomorrow.
Day 6: Optional Activities
Option 1: Stay at the lodge and enjoy activities such as a Rwanda cultural group performance, a nature walk, and stories about Rwanda’s history, traditions, and people.
Option 2: Try again with the gorilla tracking task. Taking another gorilla trekking trip will undoubtedly provide you with an incredible collection of memories.
If you want to follow gorillas in Rwanda, you’ll need to obtain another gorilla permit. The gorilla permit in Rwanda costs US$1,500 per person. Monumental Expeditions will handle everything for you.
Option 3: Visit Volcanoes National Park to see the vulnerable golden monkeys. The golden charm of these small, darling monkeys lights up the forest. You will also be on a nature stroll into the jungle, so keep an eye out for the amazing jungle features and let your untamed soul run wild in the jungle.
Day 7: Gisenyi-Lake Kivu Resort Holiday
Proceed to Gisenyi town, which is located on the beaches of Lake Kivu, after breakfast. Check into the hotel upon arrival, followed by leisure activities such as swimming, sport fishing, and a boat ride. The boat will give you a beautiful view of the cities of Kibuye and Gisenyi.
Day 8: Transfer to Kigali
Take a stroll about the city, keeping your flight time in mind, and explore Kigali’s many cultures, people, cuisine, and music. Your monumental expeditions professional safari guide will take you to the airport in time for your return flight.
