Day By Day Tour Summary
Day 1: Arrival â Nairobi, Kenya.Â
Meet your Monumental expeditions Safari Guide at Kenyaâs Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to a hotel of your choice for the night.
Day 2: Nairobi: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
Pick up from your hotel around 07:30 hrs, followed by a safari briefing from one of our guides, and then drive to the Masai Mara Game Reserve while admiring the scenic views of the Great Rift Valley. The Masai Mara game reserve is in the northern part of Kenya and is one of the most popular game-viewing areas. The reserve has 700 square kilometres of breathtaking nature. Itâs the Africa of dreams, with limitless stretches of acacia-dotted meadows interspersed with hazy hills. Afternoon game drive to witness the sun set while looking for the Big 5, which include lions in big prides, elephants, buffalos, zebras, and various plain animals. Dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, pack a picnic lunch and spend the day exploring the park in search of the Big 5 with morning and afternoon game drives. A hot-air balloon safari is available for an additional fee per person. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is undoubtedly Kenyaâs most well-known wildlife reserve. It is Kenyaâs most well-known and frequented wildlife reserve. The film âOut of Africaâ was partly shot in this reserve. The Mara is home to almost every sort of animal.
The yearly migration of millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles from the Serengeti plains over the Tanzanian border and the Mara River to the Maasai Mara grazing pastures beginning in late June is a sight to behold. From early July through August, you may see spectacular river crossings and predators preying on the migrants. The refuge is teeming with birds, with up to 452 species documented. Later, return to your resort or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park
Early breakfast, then go for morning game drives as you travel to Lake Nakuru National Park. Flamingo Hill camp serves lunch. Then, in the afternoon, embark on a wildlife drive to Lake Nakuru, a small alkaline lake in the Rift Valley known for its stunning flamingo population, which is one of the worldâs finest ornithological spectacles. Although Lake Nakuru is largely a bird sanctuary, there are a variety of creatures to be observed, including numerous large game animals such as zebras, elephants, and gazelles. This is one of our finest opportunities to view rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park was the first to be designated as a rhino reserve in Kenya. One of the rare areas where we can view Rothschildâs giraffes is here. dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru-Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, go to Amboseli National Park via Nairobi, bringing packed lunches. Afternoon game drives in Amboseli National Park, one of Kenyaâs most popular wildlife reserves. It is located on the Kenya-Tanzania border. The park is located at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africaâs tallest peak (5,896m), whose snow-capped top provides a spectacular view on clear days. Amboseli National Park is known as âThe Home of Elephantsâ because it is home to some of the largest elephant herds in the world.
Day 6: Amboseli National Park
This entire day will be spent visiting the park on game drives in the morning and afternoon.
Amboseli National Park is one of Kenyaâs most popular wildlife reserves. It is located on the Kenya-Tanzania border. The park is located at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africaâs tallest peak (5,896m), whose snow-capped top provides a spectacular view on clear days. Amboseli National Park is known as âThe Home of Elephantsâ because it is home to some of the largest elephant herds in the world. The game park also has large herds of zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, and antelopes. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, and a variety of plain game may also be seen in Amboseli.
Day 7: Amboseli-Lake Manyara National Park
After an early breakfast, depart for morning game drives as you exit the park and cross the Namanga border into Tanzania. You will travel from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, stopping for lunch along the way. The vista is always spectacular, no matter which direction we approach Manyara from.
Lake Manyara is a small, alkaline lake that forms part of the Rift Valley wall. The lake is located at the base of this impressive western escarpment, providing a picturesque and quiet environment. Lake Manyaraâs primary attractions, aside from its serene environment, are its abundant bird life, tree-climbing lions, and hippos, which may be seen at a closer range than in many other sites. Lake Manyara also attracts thousands of flamingos during various times of the year and has diverse flora ranging from savannah to marshes and acacia forests, allowing for a diversity of animal habitats such as butterflies.
Day 8:Lake Manyara, Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we will go to the Serengeti National Park. The game is observed as we go to Thorn Tree Camp or a comparable location for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Serengeti National Park National Park
A full day was spent touring Serengeti National Park, Tanzaniaâs biggest park, measuring 14,736 square kilometres and bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. With a wildebeest population of about 2 million and several other hoofed species (which include zebra, Thomsonâs gazelle, impala, topi, Grants gazelle, Kongoni, Eland, Kirkâs dik dik, klipspringer, roan, oryx, oribi, waterbuck, buffalo, giraffe, and warthog), the Serengeti is sure to attract a string of prey such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, golden jackals, and bat-eared foxes. Elephants are uncommon, and the Moru Koppies region is home to the few remaining black rhinoceros. The Serengeti also provides great bird watching, with ostrich and kori bustards frequenting, as well as a variety of larks, finches, and raptors, but the most unique tiny bird is the lilac-breasted roller.
Day 10: Serengeti-Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, we drive south to the majestic Ngorongoro Crater, where we will enter the crater for a full-day crater tour with packed lunches, summit the crater, and return to Ngorongoro. The Ngorongoro Crater, at 8300 square kilometres, is the worldâs largest entire volcanic caldera and possibly the most beautiful arena. It is commonly referred to as one of the worldâs marvels, not only for its geological splendour but also for its amazing natural refuge for some of Africaâs biggest populations of large animals.
Day 11: Ngorongoro-Arusha-Kigali
Depart for Arusha after an early breakfast. Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your trip to Rwandaâs capital, Kigali. Transfer to the hotel in Kigali, Rwanda, upon arrival.
Day 12: Kigali City Tour
Visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Ground, artisan stores, the museum, and many other fascinating attractions in Kigali after breakfast. Transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri in the afternoon for an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 13: Gorilla Trekking In Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, our tour guide will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangersâ chief. Begin the unforgettable gorilla tracking adventure at 8.30 a.m. local time. You will be alone with the magnificent mountain gorillas for approximately an hour. Photograph and watch the antics of newborn gorillas swinging from one tree limb to another. The finest wildlife experience in Africa is gorilla trekking. Return to the lodge for supper and an overnight stay.
Day 14: Ruhengeri-Golden Monkeys-Kigali-Departure
After an early breakfast, proceed to the ranger station for a briefing on your Golden Monkey tracking excursion, followed by lunch and transfer to Kigaliâs airport for your flight home.
