Adrenaline Boosting Activities
Think again if you believe that touring Uganda requires you to be confined to a car. White water rafting, kayaking, bungee jumping, quad biking, hiking, horseback riding, and other activities are available.
Adrenaline Activities
Kayaking and Canoeing
The Nile rivers in Jinja do not have to experience the volatility of a rafting expedition; instead, skilled kayakers may kayak the white rapids or canoe the calmer waters.
Lakes Mutanda and Bunyonyi are also ideal for kayaking and canoeing.
The lakes are a favorite site to relax after a gorilla walk in the adjacent Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and this region is breathtaking.
White-water Rafting
The lakeside village of Jinja, where the Nile runs upstream from Lake Victoria, offers white-water rafting.
It’s a popular activity at the beginning or finish of a safari circuit, or as a ‘halfway point between the southwest and northeast.
Despite the fact that there are several long, chaotic grade VI and V rapids, no prior white-water rafting expertise is necessary. This will be most people’s first-time whitewater rafting!
All required safety procedures are followed, and in case of an emergency, rescue kayaks and safety boats are nearby. While every exercise includes some danger, there isn’t anything to be concerned about.
Mountain and Quad Biking
After a few hours cooped up in a car on the road, nothing beats jumping on your mountain bike as the sun begins to set and riding off with your guide to explore the savannah on two wheels.
Mountain biking is available in the regions abutting Lake Mburo National Park and is an excellent opportunity to get up close and personal with plains species like as zebra and antelope. You also build up a hunger for supper!
Jinja isn’t only about the water; as part of your before or after safari activities, you can also explore the riverfront on half-day quad bike trips.
Horse Riding
Although Lake Mburo National Park only has one lion, it does boast great stable and lovely horses housed at Mihingo Lodge.
It’s the only spot in Uganda where you can ride horses, and it’s a beautiful opportunity to see the surrounding forests and grasslands.
A horseback safari is an unforgettable experience. Because the wildlife is less afraid, you can usually get closer to them than if you were on foot or in a vehicle.
Bungee Jumping & Hot Air Ballooning
In Jinja, a lakeside town, thrill seekers can also jump from a great height, sure that the bungee elastic will yank them back to safety. This is not for everyone, but it is surely entertaining.
Hot air balloon rides are now possible from the Paraa section of Murchison Falls National Park, a relatively recent venture in Uganda.
Take off at dawn to soar over the savannah, the Nile, and Lake Albert gleaming below. Does that make sense?
