Offers stunning game safaris among the park’s stunning natural landscape and animals, while providing the ideal vantage point from which to witness the world’s most powerful waterfalls.
The northern extremity of the Albertine Rift, where the bounding escarpments disappear into the vast, nameless plain of northern Uganda, is home to Murchison Falls National Park. As it travels west from Karuma falls to the Albert Nile, the Victoria Nile splits the park in half, protecting a variety of wild animals along the route. Along the way, the Nile crushes George in a tight spot at Murchison Falls.
First day: go to Murchison Falls National Park from Entebbe or Kampala.
Day 2: Early morning wildlife drive followed by a boat ride to the base of the falls in the afternoon
Day 3: Visit the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary and then return for your tour’s conclusion.
Game drives through Murchison Falls National Park on a daily basis
Travel to Mighty Murchison Falls National Park on the first day after leaving Entebbe/Kampla.
Drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park, the biggest protected area in Uganda, after leaving Kampala/Entebbe early in the morning after breakfast.
Before heading to the park to see the top of the falls, you’ll eat lunch at either the Masindi Hotel or the Coat View Hotel in Masindi. After that, you’ll make your way to the lodge for the night. Various types of accommodation are available to suit different budgets and interests of travelers.
Second day: early game drive followed by a boat ride to the base of the falls in the afternoon.
Beginning with a cup of coffee or tea in the morning, you will go on an early morning game drive along the park’s northern bank. From there, you will have guided safaris across the park, where your success or failure will rely on the day’s luck.
Once you’ve won it, you’ll be able to see a variety of animals, including elephants, buffalo, bushbucks, water, and, if you’re fortunate, predatory cats like lions. Lunch and a quick sleep await you when your return to the resort after the drives.
After lunch, you’ll go on a boat ride to the base of the falls, where you can see crocodiles, elephants, water bucks, and Uganda Kobs, among many other creatures.
If you’re particularly interested in birds, you can also take a boat ride to the delta to see the shoe bill stock, which are extremely rare. After picking you up, your driver will drop you off to the lodge where you’ll spend the night.
On Day 3, you’ll make an exciting pit break at the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary to do rhino trekking before heading back to Entebbe/Kampla. Service termination.
