Africa Road trip gorilla tours in Uganda – Guaranteed gorilla permits for your gorilla trekking…
Gorilla trekking from Lake Bunyonyi.
Gorilla trekking from Lake Bunyonyi.
Located in southwestern Uganda, close to the Rwandan border, gorilla trekking from Lake Bunyonyi takes place between Kisoro and Kabale. From 2004 until 2009, a 5,000 Ugandan shilling note featuring the lake and its terraces was circulated.
It is thought that Lake Bunyonyi was formed around 10,000 years ago. The formation of the lake was attributed to a lava flow that originated in the Virunga Mountains, which occupied the Ndego River and eventually blocked it. The valley below was also affected by the damming of the river.
DIRECTIONS TO THE IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK OF EAST BWINDI
It is highly suggested to use a 4Ă—4 safari vehicle since the last section of the park road might be somewhat treacherous.
When is the ideal time to go on a Gorilla trail from Lake Bunyonyi?
Although it’s considered a year-round pastime, gorilla trekking in Uganda is best experienced between June and September or January and February, the country’s two dry seasons.
In the Eastern Bwindi Impenetratable National Park, there are Gorilla families.
In Bwindi Forest National Park, on the Ruhija side, you may find the Bitukura gorilla family. The first sighting of this mountain gorilla family occurred by a river of the same name, therefore the name. In July 2007, habituation began, and in October 2008, the group opened to tourists.
At the moment, there are nine members and two silverbacks in the pack.
The Family of Kyaguriro Gorillas
Tourists had avoided the Kyaguriro family home until recently, and the property is currently reserved for academic use exclusively. Through consistent communication with this community, conservationists have gained valuable insight on Bwindi mountain gorillas, particularly how they vary significantly from their Virunga Volcano counterparts. An elderly silverback named Zeus initially served as the family’s leader. Regrettably, he perished while in exile as a result of being deposed and sent into the wilderness by his adversary Rukina.
There are now nine members of this group, with one silverback serving as dominant.
Adorable Oruzogo Gorillas
The second habituated gorilla family residing in the Ruhija region is the Oruzogo group. The 23-person group is headed by Silverback Tibirikwata. The family welcomed tourists in the middle of 2011 and has since grown due to many babies. Eleven people and three silverbacks make up this group at the moment.
The Mammali Gorilla Tribe
After the Kyaguliro split, many other factions emerged, and this is one among them. There are nine members of this family and one silverback at the moment. Get in touch with Monumental Expeditions and Safaris via email, WhatsApp, or phone to arrange for a gorilla permit and transportation from Lake Bunyonyi to the Ruhija area to hike mountain gorillas.
