To get to Mount Elgon National Park, you can follow these general guidelines.
By Air
The nearest major airport to Mount Elgon National Park is Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in Uganda’s capital city, Kampala. From there, you can take a domestic flight to Soroti Airport or Jinja Airport, which are closer to the park. Once you arrive at one of these airports, you can proceed to the park by road.
By Road
Mount Elgon National Park is accessible by road from various cities and towns in Uganda. The main entry point is through the town of Mbale, which is located approximately 260 kilometers northeast of Kampala. From Mbale, it takes about 1-2 hours to reach the park’s Kapchorwa or Sipi Falls area.
From Kampala
You can take a bus or hire a private vehicle from Kampala to Mbale. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours, depending on the road conditions and traffic.
From Soroti
