The kibiro fishing hamlet is on the southern beaches of Lake Albert in western Uganda, and it is here that you will find the Kibiro Hot Springs Uganda. Situated in the Kigorobya sub-county of Hoima district, about 35 kilometers north of Hoima town, are the Kibiro hot springs and salt gardens. The escarpment rises to around 100 meters above Kibiro, which is situated at the bottom of the western rift valley.

The fishing on Lake Albert and the slat mining at the Kibiro salt gardens, which are next to the hot springs, are the main economic activity in this region. Many salt gardens still use time-honored techniques for salt mining.

In order to reach the hot springs, one must down the escarpment on a steep pathway, which is itself an incredible experience. The water at the Kibiro hot springs is constantly boiling and flowing out at a temperature of 100%. People go there in droves because they hear the water there can cure all sorts of ailments.

You may cook bananas, Irish potatoes, sweet potatoes, cassava, and fresh eggs in this saucepan of bubbling water that comes from the earth. After a few minutes, they will be ready to eat. Since it is extracted from a salty rock, this water naturally has a salty taste. It flows into Lake Albert along a winding path that begins near the hot springs. So ridiculous that some creatures drown after drinking the spring water because they mistakenly believe it to be the same temperature as Lake Albert.

Spring water seeps into the places where salt is mined, maintaining a constant moisture level. Once the salt has dried, the miners may harvest it by simply scattering dry soil over wet soil. After that, it’s picked and placed in large filters that sit on large buckets. After that, they add water to the salty dirt and let it pass through the filter into the bucket. Heat is applied to the salt solution until pure salt crystals form.

It is thought that the ghosts that possess the hot springs come out after 7 o’clock in the evening, therefore bathing there beyond that time would upset them.

Calcium sulfate, magnesium chloride, lithium sulfate, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, calcium phosphate, and many more are included in this category.
