Relax and take in the Scenery around you

After being engaged in various activities like Gorilla Trekking, after a Volcano Climb, the hike via Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, then lessen up and nippy/chill out along the shores of Lake Mutanda in the gloom of the menacing Virunga Volcanoes, the Mufumbiro Mountains (mountains that cook) in the local language.

Have a local fragility/delicacy, a freshly  gotten & caught whole Tilapia with Fries then prior dinner, try one Uganda’s favourite drink, “Waragi Gin with a Krest Bitter Lemon soda”.  But meanwhile when having your meal you can accompany it with a Nile Special made at the source of the Nile in Jinja.

Relish your backdrops, some locally grown Coffee or mellow Tea, and it is Hakuna Matata lessening. Traditional trench Canoes are mainly used on two Lakes in the area.  Lake Mutanda/ Lake Bunyonyi. They are chopped from one record that is scooped out, they are harmless and quite Lake-Worthy.  They are used for fishing, transferring of people, goods to the islands and the mainland.

Lake Mutanda is an excellent lake to discover with a trench canoe & tour some of the islands.  The trench canoe involvement will be a new thing for you.  By Canoe you can do bird watching, you can swim here. Relish the lake whether you are on top of it in a boat, or swimming in it.

Sports-Fishing is not an important tourism activity on Lake Mutanda, nevertheless, the picturesque scenery alone has fascinated some of our customers to dip a line into the water here, and some have been fruitful catching lunch/ dinner. Fishing outings can be organised for you to be with an indigenous fisherman making it ethnic and sports episode for our Customers. You can always fish at Lake Mutanda especially if you are living right on the lake like at Mutanda Lake Resort and if the fish do not raid. The apparatus can be provided to you by the gotten lodge where you are staying at.

Hiking around or to Lake Mutanda

Lake Mutanda its self & adjacent Highlands are a Hiker’s Utopia. When it comes to hiking it stages the most tremendous hikes-  a 2 Day hike from Buhoma section- Nkuringo section and then on the second day down to Lake Mutanda and a canoe trip across the lake before it closes.

There are several other hikes and nature tracks found here that are most pleasurable, and you can easily stay here for a week and not discover it all. Once you are at the lake, there are frequent directed hikes and nature walks that can be taken. Most of the hikes will be through hilly territory.

Hiking through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest 

Mountain Biking around Lake Mutanda can be quite stimulating, we can bring along mountain bikes for you that you can use while at Lake Mutanda or bikes can be hired in Kisoro.  Either way, it will be the most exciting involvement for you.

Mountain Biking can be joined with other various activities around and near Lake Mutanda such as trench canoeing across the lake and retire to your lodge on a mountain bike, making it a faultless day.

The topography around Lake Mutanda is not leveled. Mountain biking is the suitable term for biking in this area. We can organise a picnic lunch for you that we carry along and set up for you.  The other decision made can be to have lunch at a restaurant in Kisoro/ another lodge/ hotel during your biking day.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – Things to do & See

It is a minor/short distance from Lake Mutanda to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park which is a trivial park with several activities like the popular communicative Batwa Trail where you learn the habits of the Batwa People, the Volcano Climbing on 3 Volcanoes spending/taking about 5-8 hrs day-hikes, tracking of Golden monkeys, Gorilla trekking, nature walks & hikes, birding and more. Mgahinga Gorilla Park is a trivial park in Uganda, but when it comes to activities it carries a thump like few others. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is identical with Gorilla Trekking, Golden Monkey trekking, and Volcano Climbing. All within 1 hr’s transfer time from a lodge along Lake Mutanda.

Encounters with the Batwa People – the original people of the Forest

These are the earliest people of the forest – the Batwa people, stayed in the forest and left a trivial territory trail – they still stayed in the area, and you can go on a communicative forest walk with them in  2 places near to Lake Mutanda ( Buniga Forest) & on the Batwa Forest Walk in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Gorilla Tracking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Southern Area

Being reliant at Lake Mutanda offers you entry to the southern area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you can track the gentle giants (Mountain Gorillas) which is an unforgettable involvement.

The Bwindi areas of Rushaga section & Nkuringo section are 1 hr transfer from lodges along Mutanda and often visitors to decide to join a stay along picturesque Lake Mutanda with Gorilla Trekking. It will normally take more transfer-interval during the rainy seasons of the year.

The Rushaga section has had the most Gorilla Families and it is shelter for the Gorilla habituation Experience which implies spending 4 hrs with a Gorilla Family. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and its nearby position is another good bit as why some of our customers decide to stay at Lake Mutanda.
