Gorilla tour of Rwanda for two days.
Duration of tour: two days and one night
Embark on an unforgettable gorilla walk in Parc National Des Volcanos as part of our 2-day Rwanda Gorilla Tour.
First Day: Take a Transfer to the Parc National Des Volcans After Arriving at Kigali International Airport
Upon your arrival, an agent from our Africa travel expert team will greet you and arrange for a driver/guide to take you to your hotel. We leave for Musanze, the primary gorilla tracking base town in Rwanda’s northwest, after breakfast. About 2.5 hours away from Kigali, the route winds through scenic hills, avoiding coffee, tea, and banana farms on a pleasant paved road.
On Day 2, you will go gorilla tracking in the Parc National des Volcans near Kigali before you leave.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast and a briefing. Then, follow the lead of knowledgeable ranger guides as you go into the jungle in search of mountain gorillas. Bring your packed lunch since the hunt for these huge apes may take anywhere from four to six hours, depending on the whereabouts of the gorilla groups.
Be sure to bring plenty of water, sturdy shoes, warm, weather-resistant clothes, sunscreen, bug repellent, and a hat. It is forbidden to use flush cameras. There is a one-hour limit on your time with the primates after you find the gorillas. However, tracking may take a whole day, particularly in rainy and muddy conditions, due to the evasiveness of some gorilla families.before continuing on to Kigali, where they capture stunning images.
Bwindi National Park offers three-day mountain gorilla trips.
The tour lasts for three days and two nights.
Spend three days tracking mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; each day, you’ll have around an hour to spend with the gorillas, taking pictures as you go. Observation of avian species is welcome on this communal trip to the nearby Batwa village.
A visit to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park begins with a flight into Entebbe or Kampala on the first day.
One of our drivers/guides will meet you at the airport or other designated location, and an agent from Monumental Expeditions and Safaris, an African travel expert, will take you to your hotel. Leave Masaka for Mbarara on your journey to south-western Uganda.
A picture stopover at the Equator is on your itinerary. You will pass through some of Western Uganda’s most picturesque landscapes on your journey. In Mbarara Town, you will take a lunch break. Carry on and arrive in Bwindi late in the evening by driving straight there. Stay the night at the Gorilla Resort, Mahogany Springs, or Buhoma Community Bandas.
Step 2: Gorilla Climb
Gather at the park headquarters after breakfast for a training from the rangers on how to behave around the gorillas. At 9:00 am, you’ll travel out into the trails to find these endangered giants. Since the exact amount of time it will take to encounter these magnificent apes is uncertain, you are wise to bring a packed lunch. But, based on the primates’ movements, the duration might vary from 2 to 9 hours.
The action is exhausting and requires hiking up and down high hills, but seeing these grand ancestors of humanity makes the pain and suffering of the search worthwhile. That is just mind-blowing! After your gorilla trekking adventure, go back to the park headquarters to pick up your certificate. Then, check into your lodge, have lunch, and relax for a little.
The Batwa people, who live in the area, will entertain you and tell you stories about their culture if you go on a communal walk with them in the evening. All night Host Lodge, Buhoma Lodge, Gorilla Resort Lodge, and Gorilla Forest Camp are all names for the same place: Buhoma Community Rest Camp.
Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe International Airport on Day 3 after exploring Bwindi National Park.
Travel back to Kampala in the morning after breakfast. Make picture stops at the Equator Line Mark and have lunch mid-afternoon. After that, you’ll either be driven to your hotel for supper and overnight or to the airport for your flight out.
Final Stop
Crucial Point:
At its headquarters in Kampala, the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) formally sells gorilla tracking licenses.
Because gorilla tracking licenses are in such great demand, it is suggested to reserve at least three months in advance. If you would like more information on brief mountain gorilla trips in Rwanda and Uganda, please contact Monumental Expeditions and Safaris.
