Uganda Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Age Limit

Golden monkey trekking in Uganda and gorilla tracking in Rwanda have an age restriction of 15 years. Since the authorities are highly rigorous on this, please make sure that all clients and children are at least 15 years old to prevent any unfortunate situations where guests’ children are refused tracking!

Children ten years of age and up are permitted to trek golden monkeys in Rwanda, provided they are accompanied by an adult, but the age limit for trekking chimpanzees in Uganda is twelve. Children under 15 are permitted to visit Dian Fossey’s tomb; but, due to the strenuous nature of the hike, we do not advise children ages 12 to 13 to do so.Uganda Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Age Limit

Safari Laundry services

In Uganda, laundry is available at most establishments for an extra fee. Depending on the area and weather, it takes at least one to two days to complete because it is typically done by hand and allowed to dry naturally outside. When you arrive at each lodge, please check the system to make sure you won’t get caught without wet washing, especially in places with a lot of rainfall, like Bwindi.

Electricity on your safari

Uganda’s electricity specification is 240 volts British Standard, often supplied via three-pin square plugs.

Rwanda: utilizing two-pin European-style plugs at 240 volts.

In certain lodges and campgrounds, charging stations are centralized, and power is only available during specific hours of the day. You will require a personal charger.
While they will always make an effort to help, continuous charging cannot always be guaranteed in lodges or camps that use solar power systems because the amount of power available for charging frequently depends on how sunny the weather has been and how busy the lodge is with charging equipment.

Please check your detailed itinerary to make sure you know where you can use specialized breathing machines, hair dryers, curling tongs, shavers, and other electrical equipment. These items can be used at hotels in towns and at lodges with large generator power backup systems, but they are typically not allowed at solar-powered lodges. If special arrangements are required, such as for breathing machines, please let your agent know in advance.

Although it’s not a given, the safari vehicles you ride in might also feature inverter systems for charging devices.

Internet access during your safari

This service is offered in certain places, particularly in towns and the bigger hotels with an international flair. If the service is available upcountry, it may still be restricted (available only during specific times, for instance) and very unpredictable due to the providers’ network signal strength, thus it shouldn’t be depended upon. There are certain restaurants that charge for it individually, so you should check their policies when you check in.
