Gorilla Trekking Gear and Wear:

Gorilla Wear We recommend a day pack, packed lunch from your lodge, 2 ltr of water, long trousers, long-sleeved shirt, hat, boots, thick socks, and sturdy gardening gloves, all this for your protection against nettles, thorns, brush.

Fold your trousers into the socks for extra shield against fire ants and unprotected skin from touching nettles that abound here.

We suggest using a porter. One is needed for 2 people.  The porter is a complement since they help you on tricky times during the trekking. This is especially true if it rains.

You will need a walking stick which our driver-guide will obtain and can be obtained from the lodge you are staying at. This will steady you on the Trail. That is especially true if it rains.

Best time of the Year for Gorilla Permit Availability

One can talk about when the weather is flattering, but when is it the finest of time of the year for Gorilla Permit obtain -ability in Uganda.  If you are looking for a Gorilla Trekking Tour this March in July/ August, you will have a tough time. If you are, however looking for that same Tour in April, May, October or November, there would be no problem. You can do a Gorilla Tour and have the indefinable Gorilla Habituation Permits during those same months.
